Anime is not Only for Kids

Anime is the Japanese cartoon. Many people in Indonesia still consider that anime is only for kids. But, in fact, anime is not only for kids because of the differences between each anime. I have some reasons why I can say that anime is not only for kids. First, each anime has different rate. It means that the rating of anime isn’t kid-rated only. The rate of anime can be teen rated (13+,15+) or adult rated (18+,21+). The kid-rated anime such as Doraemon, Taro the Space Alien etc. The teen rated anime such as Eureka 7, Denno Coil (13+), Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu, Clannad, Ef - a tale of memories - (15+) etc. The adult rated anime such as Death Note, Air Gear, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai (18+) etc. Second, the story of some anime can be so complicated. It means that some animes have difficult conflicts in their story. So, not all people can understand the story. The difficult conflict usually can be found in the adult rated anime. For example, the story of Shin Seiki Evangelion is so controversial because it pushes aside certain religion. Or maybe the story of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai can be the other examples. Its story contains a lot of violences, suspense, thriller and sadistic-brutality scene. Third, the anime fans aren’t only watch the anime but also listen to the theme songs. The anime’s theme songs are generally sung by singers or band whose age is over fifteen (15+). It seems that (as I know), there’s no anime’s theme songs sung by kids (even the Doraemon’s theme songs). For example, the 3rd opening song of Bleach, Ichirin no Hana, is sung by High and Mighty Color, a Japanese heavy metal and modern rock band from Okinawa. Thus, from the reasons above it can be concluded that anime is not only for kids because each anime has different rate and story.
